One porch, two stories
Both albums happen in the same world. At the end of Grace Had a Plan, Paul Souldier is an old man at peace on his porch. On Neon & Dust, a young musician who has lost everything walks a back road in the rain and sees Paul's porch light.
Paul takes him in for one long night and sends him home at dawn with four words: grace had a plan. You can hear that night in the song The Porch, where Paul sings a verse on Dusty's album.
